Try Thermomix pea ham soup this winter. It’s full of delicious pulled ham and topped with bagel croutons, sour cream and parmesan cheese. Say hello to the most vibrant green pea and ham soup ever!

Soup is the ultimate winter comfort food. A hearty soup such as this Pea and Ham soup can easily be substantial enough to be considered a stand-alone meal. I like my soup to pack a flavour punch and have loads of crunchy surprise toppings, hence the ham, bagel croutons and parmesan cheese.

Pea Ham Soup Notes

Allow plenty of time to boil the smoked bacon bones! Although this is quite a long cooking time the meat will fall off the bones and the full flavour will be infused through the broth. Happily, this is all unsupervised cooking. It’s simply a matter of setting the Thermomix up at the appropriate temperature and leaving it to do the job.

The frozen peas are added late in the soup making process so as they keep there lovely green colour. Using frozen peas also gives a sweeter pea ham soup flavour than your traditional pea and ham soup.

Fresh herbs such as dill, basil or even mint can add a lovely finishing flavour to the soup.
